Lake Toxaway Estates is about 5000 acres in size centered around Lake Toxaway, the country club and the Greystone Inn.  It has several sub developments located throughout the acreage.   Lake Toxaway itself is a 640 acre lake with about 16 miles of shore line.  It is a private lake and is the highest private man made lake in the eastern United States.   There is a marina for the use of boat members. The country club is open to all members and has an excellent golf course.  The Greystone Inn is open to the public and is on the National Historic Registry.  Meals are included in the price of the rooms.  All guests of the inn have access to the country club and the lake during their stay.  The history of Lake Toxaway and its surrounding area goes back to the 1800's.
